Fostering Community Support for Youth Food Pantry
Supporting the Fostering Community Youth Food Pantry is about more than food — it’s about showing up for all youth and families in Central Louisiana. At PFLAG Alexandria, we believe every family, including those with LGBTQ+ parents or youth, deserves support, affirmation, and access to resources that meet their unique needs. Many LGBTQ+ youth face challenges like food insecurity and family rejection, but all deserve to feel valued and supported. Our partnership with the Fostering Community Youth Food Pantry helps create safe spaces, build trust, and ensure no one feels left out. Pride in Care: Empowerment Essentials in Hygiene
A community-led initiative providing free, accessible menstrual hygiene products in Rapides Parish schools, ensuring all students who menstruate, regardless of gender identity, have what they need to succeed. Many schools lack the funding to keep products stocked, causing unnecessary stress and missed class time. By collecting donations of pads, tampons, and hygiene essentials, Pride in Care helps bridge this gap, creating inclusive spaces where students can access what they need without stigma. Together, we can support students’ health, dignity, and well-being every day.
Read With Love
We are dedicated to supporting schools and inspiring children to develop a lifelong love of reading. We collaborate with librarians to ensure that students have access to books that match their reading levels and personal interests, making reading both enjoyable and meaningful.
